Small Cremation Box

This box was built to hold the ashes of a beloved canine companion. A detail from the dog's collar was used to decorate the front in maple and butternut, with butternut forming a collar around the box. The pet's name, Daisy, was rendered in maple inlay on the front. The sides are butterfly cut walnut, with the grain wrapping around. The case sides form inbuilt feet at the corners and provide a space for fingers to pick up and move the box.

The top is laminated from three layers of walnut and maple for dimensional stability.

The ashes are secured in their chamber from below with screws.
