Pencil Box

This pencil box is made from walnut and maple, cut using mortised slab ends. The interior is in maple with three compartments for pencils, and smaller items such as erasers and sharpeners.

The lid hinge is all wood with two metal pins securing it to the ends. The rear wall of the box forms a natural backstop to the open lid. The lid closure is a series of hidden magnets below the surface, laminated in the front wall and hidden under a walnut inlay in the lid
